Utica Comets News Release
Utica, N.Y. - The Utica Comets fell to the Belleville Senators by a score of 1-0 Friday night at the Adirondack Bank Center.
Richard Bachman and Senators netminder Danny Taylor stopped 10 and 12 shots respectively to keep the game scoreless through the first 20 minutes.
Gabriel Gagne gave the Senators a 1-0 lead three and a half minutes into the second period. Daniel Ciampini and Mike Blunden had the assist.
The Comets had a number of chances to tie the game in the third period, including hitting three posts. Despite a late flurry, the Comets were unable to solve Taylor and ultimately suffered the loss.
Bachman finished with 26 saves and his record falls to 10-9-4. Taylor stopped all 32 shots he faced to pick-up the shutout win. His record improves to 9-14-2. The Comets power play went 0-4, while the penalty did not allow a goal in five attempts.
The Comets return to action tomorrow night as they hit the road to take on the Hershey Bears. Puck drop at the Giant Center is at 7 p.m. The game can be heard on 94.9 KROCK and viewed on AHL Live.
