Come Celebrate Canada Day With the Capitals

On Thursday July 1st, the Edmonton Capitals will play an All-Canadian affair against their rivals from the south, the Calgary Vipers. Come out to the game and join in on all the Canada Day fun and activities! The fesitivities will begin with a ceremonial first pitch from Olympic gold medalist Meaghan Mikkelson from the National Women's hockey team. The first 2000 fans through the gates will each receive their own Canada mini-flag. Face painters and balloon artists will be on-sight to entertain the kids and there will be numerous Canadian themed in-game promotions and giveaways. It is also be another 4 for $44 Thursday, where families can get four grandstand tickets, four hotdogs, and four Pepsi for one low price. After the game, stay in your seat to enjoy the City of Edmonton's Canada Day Fireworks Display from one of the best vantage points in the city. Game time is 7 p.m. the fireworks begin at 11 p.m.

REMINDER: If you are attending the game, there will be road closures in and around the River Valley AFTER 9 p.m. including: River Valley Road, Walterdale Road, Queen Elizabeth Park Road, and 109 Street between Saskatchewan Drive and the High Level Bridge.

If you don't get enough fireworks on Thursday, don't forget our regular Safeway Fireworks Friday is scheduled the following night. Get even closer to the big show the Capitals will set off right behind left-centre field!
