LOVELAND, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles of the ECHL announced today that forward Jack Combs has signed a contract with the Worcester Sharks of the AHL. Combs is currently the ECHL's leading scorer, recording 37 points (17-20-37) through the season's first 23 games. He also ranks among the league's leaders in goals (2nd), assists (3rd), game-winning goals (T-2nd) & short-handed goals (T-2nd).

"This is a great opportunity for Jack, and we wish him the best," said Eagles general manager & head coach, Chris Stewart. "He's certainly earned this chance with his performance through the first third of our season."

This will be the 6-foot, 215-pound forward's third stint in the AHL, where he's totaled one assist in six games. In 2009-10, Combs played three games with the Peoria Rivermen, and in 2010-11, he spent three games with the Chicago Wolves.

The Eagles play tonight in Utah in the first of three games this week against the Grizzlies. They will also play in Utah Friday night before the teams travel overnight before Saturday night's game at the Budweiser Events Center.
