South Carolina Stingrays News Release

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays players, staff and booster association brought holiday cheer to the children of MUSC Children's Hospital on Tuesday, December 13 in the Child Life Atrium. Stingrays players and staff played games and shared laughs with the children and the SC Stingrays Booster Association donated new movies, games and more.

"It's important to not only the players, but the organization as a whole," said Stingrays Head Coach Spencer Carbery. "If a player can put a smile on a kid's face that is going through a tough time, it is all worth it."

The players and staff played video games, air hockey, pool, painted holiday ornaments, made music and shared toys with the children.

"It's awesome," said Stingrays forward and team captain Matt Scherer. "People think of hockey players as being the tough guys, but no one is tougher than the kids here at the Atrium."

The Stingrays Booster Association presented MUSC Children's hospital with movies, coloring books, board games, a new Nintendo DS system and video games donated by Stingrays fans and booster club members.

"It means the world to the boosters to be able to do this with the team," said SC Stingrays Booster Association President, Nancy Sullivan. "It is always such and honor to be a part of this great event."
