Tonight's Matchup:
Chicago and Toledo have met six times this season, with the Express winning the first three games and the Walleye securing victories in each of the last three meetings. After the Express scored 14 goals in the first three games against Toledo, the Walleye have held Chicago to just one goal in the last three, winning 4-1 each of those times. Both teams have seen a rash of call ups to the AHL lately, as Toledo is missing two of their top four point scorers (RW Evan Rankin, C Adam Estoclet), while the Express are missing their leading defenseman point-getter (Darcy Campbell), as well as LW Blair Riley, who was leading the Express in goals and points at the time of his call up. Toledo is also without D Simon-Danis Pepin, their second leading point scorer among defensemen, who is currently on the IR.
Express Notes:
Chicago is 2-0-1-0 in their last three games, all against the Kalamazoo Wings... Chicago is 7-3-0-1 at home this season, including 7-2-0-0 against North Division opponents... RW Chaz Johnson needs one penalty minute to reach 1,000 PIM in his professional career... LW Chad Painchaud was named a runner up for the ECHL Player of the Week last week, after scoring four goals and picking up two assists in three games against Kalamazoo.
Recent Transactions:
G Tom Schaul was released from his Emergency Backup Goaltender contract and was signed to standard ECHL contract today... D Evan Stephens was placed on the 3-IR on Monday... D Darcy Campbell was loaned to Springfield (AHL) on Saturday... D Brett Motherwell was activated from the 3-IR on Saturday... LW Devin DiDiomete activated from 7-IR on Friday...
