Columbus Crew SC Acquires Assets in Trade with the Philadelphia Union

COLUMBUS - Columbus Crew SC today announced that it has acquired a natural Second Round Selection in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft from the Philadelphia Union in exchange for goalkeeper Joe Bendik. Additionally, should Bendik meet certain performance conditions, Crew SC will receive $50,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) for the 2020 MLS season.

"We would like to thank Joe Bendik for his time with the Club and wish him the best of luck in this next stage of his career," said Crew SC President and General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko.

During his time with the Black & Gold, Bendik made six regular-season appearances (all starts).

Crew SC returns to MAPFRE Stadium tomorrow, Saturday, July 20, when it hosts the Montreal Impact [7:30 p.m. ET / FOX Sports Ohio, FOX Sports GO (Stream) / 97.1 The Fan, 971TheFan.com (English); ColumbusCrewSC.com (Spanish)].
