Columbus Blue Jackets Assign Forward Luke Adam to Springfield Falcons

Springfield, Mass. - The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned forward Luke Adam to the Springfield Falcons, Blue Jackets General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. Adam was added to the roster on emergency recall on Monday.

Adam, 24, recorded a hit on 6:13 of ice time in his Blue Jackets debut Tuesday at Carolina and has picked up four penalty minutes and an even plus/minus rating while averaging 6:26 of ice time in three games. He has collected 15 goals and 11 assists for 26 points with 36 penalty minutes in 90 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets and Buffalo Sabres. Adam has also posted 90-109-199 and 227 penalty minutes in 268 career AHL games with the Falcons, Rochester Americans and Portland Pirates. He has registered 13-25-38 and 58 penalty minutes in 58 AHL games this season, including 5-13-18 and 34 penalty minutes in 31 outings with the Falcons.

Acquired by Columbus from Buffalo in exchange for forward Jerry D'Amigo on December 16, Adam was selected by the Sabres in the second round, 44th overall, in the 2008 NHL Draft. In 2013-14, he tallied 1-0-1 and four penalty minutes in 12 games with the Sabres and added 29-20-49 and 48 penalty minutes in 59 games with the Americans. He led Rochester and ranked eighth in the AHL in goals, was second on the club in points and appeared in the 2014 AHL All-Star Classic. He recorded NHL career highs in goals, assists, points and games played in 2011-12 with Buffalo, finishing with 10-10-20 and 14 penalty minutes in 52 games.
