Binghamton Senators News Release
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -The Binghamton Senators dropped a one-goal game on home ice for the second consecutive night as the Hartford Wolf Pack defeated their hosts 4-3. Hartford managed to score a pair of goals in a high-paced middle frame to break a 2-2 tie and capture the win.
Binghamton opened the scoring 6:58 into the first period after Cole Schneider knocked home his team-leading 20th goal of the season. With the Wolf Pack's defense on its heels, Carter Camper fed a backdoor pass to Schneider who slapped it home to give Binghamton the 1-0 lead. Hartford responded less than three minutes later after Chris Mueller took a cross-ice feed from Chris Bourque with a delayed penalty pending against the B-Sens and roofed the puck over Scott Greenham for his 11th of the season. Binghamton regained the lead at the 15:35 mark of the first after Shane Prince redirected a shot from Patrick Mullen past Yann Danis to make it 2-1. With Hartford working the power play, Ryan Haggerty notched his first of two goals on the evening with less than three minutes to play in the first to send the teams to the intermission tied 2-2.
Haggerty gave the Wolf Pack their first lead of the night with his second score of the game three minutes into the middle frame, but Ryan Dzingel managed to poke home a rebounded puck in front of Danis 5:27 into the period to even the score 3-3. Hartford needed just 27 seconds to respond as Oscar Lindberg scored his 18th of the year to make it a 4-3 score in favor of the visitors.
Despite outshooting the Wolf Pack 12-7 over the final 20 minutes of play, the B-Sens failed to find the back of the net as Danis held on for the one-goal decision. Danis finished with 37 saves on 40 shots faced while Greenham allowed four goals on 27 shots in the losing effort. In addition to Haggerty's pair of goals the Wolf Pack received two-point outings from Conor Allen and Michael Kostka who registered two assists each. Camper (0+2) and Prince (1+1) led the B-Sens offensively.
Binghamton finishes up its three-in-three tomorrow when they visit the Adirondack Flames at 5:00p.m.
