COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - Colorado Springs and Iowa combined for 25 runs on 30 hits but the Sky Sox (30-24) ended up on top, taking a 14-11 victory over the I-Cubs (21-33) Saturday at Security Service Field.

The two teams battled through six lead changes over a 3 hour and 41 minute game. The Sky Sox and I-Cubs had an even 15 hits each, but Iowa managed 15 singles while the Sky Sox powered seven extra-base knocks, including two home runs.

The Sky Sox shot to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, but the I-Cubs didn't submit as they chipped away at their deficit. A run in each of the second, third and fourth innings locked the game at 3-3. The Sky Sox quickly regained the edge with a run in the bottom of the fourth and moved ahead 5-3 as they plated another in the sixth.

The floodgates would open in the seventh as the I-Cubs sent 11 to bat and scored six, tying their season high for runs in an inning. Iowa collected seven hits in the frame and five different I-Cubs knocked in a run. Taking a 9-5 edge, the lead wouldn't last long as Colorado Springs responded with four runs in the bottom of the inning to tie the game once again.

Iowa pushed back ahead with a two-run eighth, but a five-run bottom of the inning, capped by a Kyle Wren grand slam, pushed Colorado Spring to the win.

All nine Iowa starters collected a hit, including pitcher Duane Underwood Jr., and four nabbed multi-hit contests. Bijan Rademacher had a three-hit game and Taylor Davis reached four times with two hits and two walks. Lane Adams knocked in three, while Chesny Young and Ryan Court added two RBI each.
