From the Notes
Barreto is Back: The Honky Tonks get some reinforcements today with the return of Franklin Barreto who was optioned by Oakland yesterday and activated by Nashville today. The infielder is Oakland's #3 prospect according to MLB Pipeline. He is batting .235 with 6 home runs and 17 RBI for Nashville this season. Barreto torched Round Rock last season as he hit .442 (23-for-52) with 10 runs, 2 doubles, 2 triples, 3 home runs, 11 RBI, and 5 stolen bases in 12 games against the Express/Dance Halls in 2017.
You're the Only Ten I See: Nick Martini is riding a nine-game hitting streak, the longest for any Nashville hitter this season. With a hit tonight he would become the first Nashville hitter to record a ten-game hitting streak since Joey Wendle collected a hit in 12 straight games from July 5-20, 2017.
Give Us Some Assistance: Ramon Laureano collected another outfield assist last night when he threw out Scott Heineman trying to advance to third base. The 23-year-old now has three outfield assists on the season, which is tied with Anthony Garcia for the team lead. Laureano has played just 11 games in the outfield compared to Garcia's 34.
Smo Homers: Jake Smolinksi has homered in back-to-back games, becoming just the third Nashville player to do so this season. Anthony Garcia has done it twice when he homered twice on May 3 and once on May 4. He did it again with a home run on both May 9 and May 10. Dustin Garneau did it once with solo blasts on May 15 and May 17.
