Colorado Rapids Trade Micheal Azira to Montreal, Receive Fourth-Round Pick in 2020

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. - Colorado Rapids Soccer Club announced today the trade of midfielder Micheal Azira in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft. The Kampala, Uganda native signed with the Rapids on December 9, 2015 via the Waiver Draft.

"We want to thank Micheal for his time at the club," said Rapids' Executive Vice President and General Manager Pádraig Smith. "I know our fans will always be appreciative of his pivotal role in the club's 2016 play-off run and we wish him nothing but success in this next stage of his career."

Azira, 30, appeared in 66 matches, 59 from the start, for Colorado from 2016-2018.

Transaction: The Colorado Rapids acquire a fourth-round pick in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft from the Montreal Impact, in return for midfielder Michael Azira.
