Colorado Eagles Sign Defenseman Jim Jackson

WINDSOR, Colo. - The Governors' Cup champion Colorado Eagles announced today the signing of defenseman Jim Jackson. The Eagles now have 26 players signed for their upcoming camp in preparation for the 2009-10 season (see the full list below).

Jackson enters his seventh professional season and has played in 351 career games -- 52 of which don't count against the Central Hockey League's veteran limit of 300. His other 299 games have all come at the AHL and ECHL levels where he's racked up 169 points (60-109-169). In addition, the Marquette, Mich. native has put up 12 points (6-6-12) in 32 career playoff matches.

Prior to turning pro, Jackson played four seasons at Northern Michigan University. In his collegiate career, the defenseman recorded 86 points (22-64-86) and 193 penalty minutes in 153 games.

The 2009-10 regular season starts with a President's Cup finals rematch against the Texas Brahmas on Friday, October 16.
