2009 Hockey School begins Tuesday

Amarillo, TX 9/21/09 - The highly anticipated 2009 Gorillas Hockey School will begin tomorrow, September 22nd at the Amarillo Civic Center.
The week-long program is designed to help today's hockey player improve and enhance his/her current hockey abilities. The camp will focus on the essential hockey basics necessary to be competitive and successful at any level. The Hockey School schedule will combine structured on-ice training, drills and controlled scrimmages. Hockey School participants will not only become better hockey players, but better overall athletes.
"I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to teach the game to the Panhandle's youth," remarked Gorillas Head Coach & Hockey School instructor Brian Pellerin. "It's paramount our youth learn the game correctly at an early age. We plan on learning, working hard, and having a whole lot of fun in the process."
Some highlights of the camp include extensive instruction in passing, shooting, stick handling, puck control & positional play. Power skating instruction to improve balance, speed, acceleration and agility will also be taught by Gorillas Head Coach Brian Pellerin and Player/Assistant Coach Austin Sutter. Participants will receive an official Hockey School jersey to go along with their registration fee.
