Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release

SHREVEPORT, LA - Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs players, staff members and their families participated in the 15th annual Susan G. Komen Shreveport-Bossier Race for the Cure on Saturday morning to help raise money and awareness for the fight against breast cancer. The Mudbugs were just one of many local organizations and thousands of individuals who joined in the day's festivities at Mall St. Vincent in Shreveport.

Members of the Mudbugs team participated in the 5K co-ed walk, completing the 3.1-mile course with the huge crowd of participants in 1:00:51. The Mudbugs also contributed to the fundraising effort and were among the leading organizations in online donations for this year's Race for the Cure.

The Mudbugs will continue their support of the Northwest Louisiana Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure when we host "Pink in the Rink" weekend during home games on February 19th and 20th. Pink in the Rink weekend will feature a number of events and activities allowing 'Bugs fans to get involved in the fight against breast cancer. The weekend will culminate with a silent auction of the Mudbugs' specialty breast cancer awareness jerseys that will be worn during both games that weekend.

Keep an eye out for further details about the Mudbugs' Pink in the Rink weekend to be announced at a later date.

The Mudbugs will begin their 13th season in Bossier-Shreveport on Friday, October 16 against the Laredo Bucks at CenturyTel Center. Season ticket packages for 2009-2010 are available now, so call (318) 752-BUGS or visit our website at www.mudbugshockey.com for more information.
