NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (September 21)-The Brahmas season has yet to begin but they are already setting team history as they send a record five players to American Hockey League (AHL) training camps for the 2009-10 season.

Making their trek for the purple and black are forward Ryan Cruthers to the Chicago Wolves (affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers), defensemen Justin Kinnunen and Derek Merlini as well as goaltender Brett Jaeger to the Houston Aeros camp (affiliate of the Minnesota Wild) and defenseman Kyle Deck to the San Antonio Rampage (affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes).

Last season, three Brahmas played in the AHL (the most of any team in the CHL); including Jason Deitsch (Houston Aeros), Scott Sheppard (Rockford IceHogs) and Kinnunen (San Antonio Rampage).
