Frisco RoughRiders News Release

FRISCO, TEXAS (MAY 19, 2013) - Texas Rangers pitcher Colby Lewis is expected to start for Frisco on Monday morning against the San Antonio Missions at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Lewis is currently on the Rangers' 15-day disabled list and is working to return to the major leagues after suffering a torn flexor tendon in his right elbow last season.

Lewis will be joined by Rangers catcher A.J. Pierzynski, who is also with the RoughRiders, rehabbing a strained right oblique muscle. Monday's game starts at 11 a.m. and fans may purchase tickets by visiting the Dr Pepper Ballpark box office, www.RidersBaseball.com or by calling (972) 731-9200.

The Rangers' 2012 Opening Day starting pitcher, Lewis suffered a tear in his right elbow last July and attempted to pitch through the injury before exacerbating it in his final start of the season on July 18 in Oakland. The right-hander was 6-6 with a 3.43 ERA in 16 starts for Texas before going on the disabled list. Lewis made one rehab start this season with the Round Rock Express on May 9, but suffered from triceps tendonitis after the outing and the Rangers temporarily shut down his assignment. In eight big league seasons, the former first round draft pick owns a 44-44 record and a 4.76 ERA.

The RoughRiders continue their series with the San Antonio Missions tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Dr Pepper Ballpark. For tickets to any RoughRiders game, fans can go to www.RidersBaseball.com or call the RoughRiders at (972) 731-9200. Tickets are also available for purchase at the Dr Pepper Ballpark box office, which is open 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Monday - Friday and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday.
