
Coaches attend American Red Cross dinner

Thursday, September 15th Condors Head Coach Marty Raymond, Assistant Coach Mark Pederson and Condors Center Kevin St. Jacques will help the American Red Cross raise funds for victims of Hurricane Katrina. The American Red Cross - Kern Chapter is hosting an evening of dinner and entertainment at the Holiday Inn Select located next to Rabobank Arena, 801 Truxtun Ave. The Condors representatives will assist with serving attendees dinner provided by chefs from Uricchio's, Café-Med, The Bistro, the Petroleum Club and the Holiday Inn. The event will include a silent auction, featuring items from the Condors, as well as a performance from stand-up comedian Gilbert Esquivel. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased in advance by calling the Holiday Inn at 323-1900.
Friday, September 16th Colonel Claw'd will take to the ice during a public skate session at Bakersfield Ice Sports Center. The Condors feathered mascot will be skating from 8 - 8:45 p.m. at 1325 Q Street. The public skate session runs from 8 p.m. - 11 p.m. and cost for admission is $7 for adults, $6.50 for kids 12 and under. Skates are available to rent for an additional $3 For more information, contact The Ice Center at 852-7400.
Saturday, September 17th American Youth Soccer Organization kicks-off their season with picture day, and a little help from Colonel Claw'd. AYSO is a non-profit, volunteer run organization dedicated to offering a quality sports program under the motto "Everyone Plays". Colonel Claw'd will get the teams to smile for the camera at 9 a.m. at Liberty Park, 11225 Brimhall Road.

Week in Review:
Saturday, September 10th Condors staff assisted Catholic Charities with a food and clothing drive for the homeless as part of the United Way of Kern County's Day of Caring. In addition to collecting items, Catholic Charities also held a barbeque for volunteers and for the homeless. Director of Ticket Sales, Jose Rivera grilled more than 100 hot dogs while other members of BSE staff handled the condiments and served the plates.
Saturday, September 10th Childrens' Advocates Resource Endowment (CARE) held their annual fundraiser, Brews in the Village '05. Condors staff joined more than 3,000 other attendees for a night of sampling beer and wine from an estimated 60 North American, plus 20 Central Coast wineries. BREWS had plenty of entertainment with 17 live bands and four different stages set-up throughout Pioneer Village of the Kern County Museum.
