Clune Activated From Injured Reserve; Assigned To Manchester

MANCHESTER, NH - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have activated left wing Richard Clune from the injured reserve and assigned to Manchester, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.
Clune, 21, suffered a broken rib during a pre-season game with the Kings on September 24, 2008, and has been rehabbing in Manchester. The 6-foot, 195-pound native of Toronto, Ontario, split his first professional season, 2007-08, between the AHL's Iowa Stars and the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads. Clune collected eight points (3-5=8) and 137 penalty minutes, ranked second on the team, in 38 games with the Stars. He also tallied 10 points (1-9=10) and 41 penalty minutes in 19 games with the Steelheads.
Selected by the Dallas Stars in the third round (71st overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Clune was acquired by the Kings from Dallas for right wing Lauri Tukonen on July 21, 2008. Clune will wear jersey No. 16.
