Columbus Recalls Right Wing Derek Dorsett

Syracuse, NY (November 19, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled right wing Derek Dorsett.

Dorsett, 21, has skated in seven games with the Crunch this season, tallying one goal, five assists and 35 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in 10 games with Columbus this year, collecting one goal, one assist and 56 penalty minutes. Dorsett started the season in Columbus and was leading the National Hockey League in penalty minutes before being assigned to Syracuse November 3.

A native of Kindersley, Saskatchewan, Dorsett tallied his first NHL point, a goal, October 21 vs. Vancouver. He was drafted by Columbus in the seventh round, 189th overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
