Ontario Clippers News Release

PORTLAND, Maine - The Agua Caliente Clippers (9-10) break their three-game winning streak, falling short against the Maine Red Claws (13-6), 112-109, on Friday night.

Facing a 21-point deficit, their largest of the game, at the 4:46 mark in the third quarter, the Clippers attempted to fight back, bringing the lead down to 10 with a 16-8 run to close out the quarter. They carried their momentum into the fourth quarter and a Xavier Rathan-Mayes tip-in tied the game at 108 with 39.5 seconds remaining. However, the Red Claws were able to hang on in the final seconds as Terance Mann missed the potential game-tying three-pointer.

Mann, on assignment from the LA Clippers, filled up the stat sheet with a game-high 23 points to go along with five rebounds, six assists, and five steals. J.J. Avila added a season-high 20 points off the bench.

Yante Maten paced the Red Claws with a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds. Carsen Edwards, on assignment from the Boston Celtics, added 21 points and five rebounds.

The Clippers return home to Ontario after a five-game road trip to take on the Salt Lake City Stars on Tuesday, January 7th. The game is slated to tip-off at 7 p.m. PST inside the Toyota Arena in Ontario, CA.
