
Strong Second Half Leads Warriors over Stars, 110-106

TAYLORSVILLE, UT. - The Santa Cruz Warriors (13-9) defeated the Salt Lake City Stars (14-4) 110-106 Friday night at Lifetime Activities Center-Bruin Arena after erasing a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit.
Jordan Poole, on assignment from the Golden State Warriors, scored 21 points, hitting 3-of-7 from three-point territory, and grabbing six rebounds.
Santa Cruz went down by as many as 15 in the first half but was able to cut the deficit to 10 points to enter halftime. Poole opened the third-quarter with a three-pointer to cut the lead to seven points. Devyn Marble hit back-to-back threes and another Poole three-pointer cut the deficit to one point with 8:00 minutes left in the third quarter. The earned a 32-18 advantage in the third quarter to take a 77-73 lead into the fourth frame.
The two teams traded leads in the fourth quarter. After a 19-2 Stars run mid-way through the fourth, the Warriors fought back to regain a lead (104-102) with 1:30 remaining after falling behind by 10 points in the period. Jeremy Pargo scored ten points in the fourth quarter to finish the game with 22 points and four assists. Juan Toscano-Anderson has converted a three-pointer in each of the past eight games and finished the night with 14 points and eight rebounds.
Salt Lake City leads the G League in holding opponents to 29.5 percent from three-point range and held the Warriors to 30 percent Friday night. Nigel Williams-Goss, on assignment from the Utah Jazz, finished with nine points in 20 minutes. Jarrell Brantley led all scorers with 23 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
The Warriors will travel to Frisco, Texas, on January 11 to take on the Texas Legends. The Warriors will return to Kaiser Permanente Arena on Saturday, January 18, for a 7 p.m. tip against the Oklahoma City Blue.
