
Clippers Rally Past Braves

Richmond, VA - The Columbus Clippers beat the Richmond Braves 4-2 Tuesday at The Diamond. The Clippers erupted for three runs in the seventh inning to gain a split of the four game series.
Richmond took a 1-0 lead in the third on an RBI double by Brandon Jones. They stretched that lead to 2-0 in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Wes Timmons. The Clippers picked up a run in the fifth on an RBI ground ball by Michael Restovich. The Clippers sent eight men up in the seventh to grab the lead. Restovich knocked in another run with a ground out to tie the game. Kory Casto chased two runs home with a single to put the Clippers in front.
Billy Traber earned the win with three innings of perfect relief. Chris Booker notched his 27th save. Jeff Bennett took the loss. Jones had two hits for the Braves. Brent Abernathy had three hits for the Clippers.
The South Division leading Braves open a two game series with West Division leader Toledo Wednesday at 7 PM. Trey Hodges will pitch for the Braves against Andrew Miller. For more information please call 359-4444 or visit www.rbraves.com.
