Ontario Clippers News Release
ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Clippers (9-2), the NBA G League affiliate of the LA Clippers, defeat the Oklahoma City Blue (5-5), 119-101, in the tail end of a two-game series on Wednesday night.
Playing with only eight men, the shorthanded Clippers fared just fine with four players scoring at least 20 points. Xavier Moon paced the Ontario with a game-high 30 points to go along with nine assists. Keaton Wallace (25 points), Michael Devoe (23 points), and Nate Darling (21 points) round out the quartet.
Oklahoma City were led by Jaden Shackelford's 19 points off the bench. Jaylin Williams added a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double.
The Blue came out of the gates strong, holding the advantage for most of the opening frame. Ontario was able to take hold of the lead early in the second quarter and the game remained in their control the rest of the way through. Their lead would grow to much as 23 in the victory.
Next up, the Clippers will try to start a new win streak as they head to Oklahoma City to face the Blue for the third consecutive game. Tip off is at noon PST inside the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.
