Texas Legends News Release
SOUTHAVEN, MS - The Memphis Hustle (4-5) took control of overtime to top the Texas Legends (6-6) 120-113.
The game saw 23 lead changes, 14 ties, and stayed within single digits on both sides. The visitors had a seven-point advantage with three minutes left in the first half, but an 8-2 run put the Hustle within one at the buzzer.
Texas opened the fourth at the line to extend the lead back to seven but six lead changes later Dakota Mathias tied it up with a long ball with seconds on the clock. Mathias missed the final opportunity in regulation but made up for it with the game-winner in overtime as Memphis knocked down seven unanswered to even the season series 1-1.
Grant Riller had his second straight season-high night with 32 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. Tyler Hall finished with 19 points, 6 rebounds, and Mouhamadou Gueye added 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 blocks off the bench.
Matt Hurt came off the bench for 22 points, 6 rebounds and Justin Bean grabbed a 17-point, 14-rebound double-double. Mathias and fellow former-Legend EJ Onu added 16 points apiece.
Texas heads to Birmingham next to take on the Squadron Tuesday, Dec. 6th at 7pm CT. Fans can catch all the action live at www.TexLegends.com and on the Legends Facebook page.
