
CLEVELAND MONSTERS: Blue Jackets Recall Forsberg, Assign Korpisalo

Forsberg recalled for third time, Korpisalo returns to Cleveland after NHL stint.
CLEVELAND - The AHL's defending Calder Cup Champions, the Cleveland Monsters, proudly powered by Constellation, announced Friday that fourth-year goaltender Anton Forsberg was recalled by the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets for the third time this season, while net-minder Joonas Korpisalo was assigned to Cleveland following his first NHL stint of the campaign.
A 6'3, 192 lb. native of Härnösand, Sweden, Forsberg, 24, is 0-1-0 with a 4.07 goals-against average (GAA) and a .852 save percentage (S%) in one appearance for the Blue Jackets this season and has a 1-8-0 record to his credit with a 4.02 GAA and .879 S% in ten career NHL appearances, all for Columbus, spanning each of the past three seasons. A 2017 AHL All-Star, Forsberg is 13-9-2 in a team-leading 26 appearances for the Monsters this season with one shutout, a 2.29 GAA and a .926 S%. In 101 career AHL appearances spanning parts of four seasons from 2013-17 for the Springfield Falcons and the Monsters, Forsberg is 59-27-8 with six shutouts, a 2.20 GAA and .923 S%. In the 2016 AHL postseason, Forsberg posted a 9-0 record in ten appearances with two shutouts, a 1.34 GAA and a .949 S%, helping the Monsters claim the Calder Cup.
A 6'3", 190 lb. native of Pori, Finland, Korpisalo, 22, is 2-1-0 in four appearances for the Blue Jackets this season with a 3.44 GAA and a .893 S%. In 35 career NHL games played, all for the Blue Jackets, spanning the past two seasons, Korpisalo is 18-12-0 with a 2.68 GAA and a .917 S%. In 12 appearances for the Monsters this year, Koripsalo is 5-5-2 with a 2.99 GAA and a .900 S% and in 33 career AHL appearances spanning parts of three seasons from 2014-17 for Springfield and the Monsters, Korpisalo is 13-15-4 with two shutouts, a 2.66 GAA and a .905 S%.
