Fort Myers Mighty Mussels News Release

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Clearwater picked up a two-out, two-run home run from Henri Lartigue in the opening inning and beat the Miracle, 4-0, on Saturday night at Hammond Stadium.

Lartigue hit the home run off Miracle starter Charlie Barnes, his seventh of the season. The Threshers added two runs in the fourth on RBIs from Kyle Martin and Grenny Cumana.

Taylor Grzelakowski had three of the four hits in the game for the Miracle, including a double to lead off the bottom of the fourth. The Miracle would strand runners on first and third in that frame and left eight on base total in the game. They went 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position.

The Miracle threatened in the bottom of the ninth and brought Ben Rortvedt to the plate representing the tying run, but he hit a sharp grounder to second to end the game.

Mauricio Llovera (6-7) tossed six innings and allowed three hits to earn the win. J.D. Hammer, Jakob Hernandez, and Addison Russ completed the shutout for Clearwater with one scoreless inning apiece.

Barnes (5-6) suffered the loss, allowing four runs on six hits in 3.1 innings. The Miracle bullpen kept them in the game, as Colton Davis (1.2 innings), Alex Robinson (2) and Adam Bray (2) combined to shut out Clearwater the rest of the way and hold them to two hits.

The three-game series concludes on Sunday afternoon at Hammond stadium with the rubber game. First pitch is 1:00 p.m. Griffin Jax will start for Fort Myers.
