Clearwater Threshers News Release

Mauricio Llovera held Fort Myers scoreless through six innings, as the Threshers combined on a four-hit shutout on the way to a 4-0 win over the Miracle at Century Link Sports Complex on Saturday night.

Clearwater (36-19) (68-55) remains three games up on the Lakeland Flying Tigers in the FSL North, with just 14 games left in the regular season.

Pedro Florimon finished 0-for-3 in his fourth rehab game for Clearwater, playing seven innings at third base.

Clearwater set the tone in the first, after Luke Williams collected a one-out single, and Henri Lartigue launched a two-run shot to left to give the Threshers the early 2-0 lead. The long ball for Lartigue was his seventh of the season.

The Threshers doubled that advantage in the fourth.

Edgar Cabral led off with a double to left and Daniel Brito singled, setting up runners at second and third after a throwing error on center fielder Aaron Whitefield.

Kyle Martin followed with a grounder to short, scoring Cabral, and Grenny Cumana came through with a double to left to bring in Brito and make it 4-0.

Llovera handled six innings in the start without issue, limiting the Miracle to just three hits and two walks while picking up four strikeouts.

JD Hammer was activated from the disabled list on Saturday, and retired all three batters he faced in a perfect seventh inning. Jakob Hernandez worked a flawless eighth, and Addison Russ finished it off with a scoreless ninth to secure Clearwater's 12th shutout victory.

The rubber match is set for 1 p.m. on Sunday, when Bailey Falter toes the rubber opposed by Griffin Jax.
