WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY - Cam Wynne and Carlos Betancourt combined for six scoreless innings of relief as the BlueClaws topped Hudson Valley 6-1 on Thursday night, pulling them back into a first place tie with Brooklyn entering the final three games of the season.

Jersey Shore gained a game on Brooklyn, who lost earlier in the night to Wilmington. The BlueClaws would advance to the post-season should the two teams end up tied after the final game of the year on Sunday.

The BlueClaws opened the scoring in the first inning on an RBI single by Caleb Ricketts. After Gunner Mayer escaped a jam in the bottom of the first inning, the game was delayed by rain for 1 hour and 45 minutes.

After the game resumed, the BlueClaws immediately scored twice. Justin Crawford and Bryan Rincon picked up RBI doubles to give the BlueClaws a 3-0 lead.

Cam Wynne came on in the second inning and threw three scoreless innings with two strikeouts. Carlos Betancourt followed him with three scoreless innings of his own.

Bryan Rincon added a seventh inning SAC fly for a 4-0 lead. They added two more in the eighth, one on an error and one on a SAC fly by Bryan Rincon.

Erick Brito had three hits in the win while Rincon, Felix Reyes, and Ricketts had two hits apiece. Crawford stole two bases, giving him six since joining the BlueClaws on August 15th.

The teams continue their series on Friday night at 7:05 pm. RHP Mitch Neunborn starts for Jersey Shore.
