SPOKANE, Wash. - LeDarious Clark hit two home runs, Joe Palumbo led a pitching staff shutout and the Spokane Indians blanked the Boise Hawks 9-0 on Wednesday night in front of 4,244 fans at Avista Stadium. It was Youth Baseball Night presented by Wittkopf Landscape Supplies, The Big 99.9 Coyote Country and 700 ESPN.

Clark continued his career-opening tear with two home runs, a stolen base and a 4-for-5 line all while extending his hitting streak to 18. The 12th-round draft pick has reached base safely in each of the 19 games to start his professional career. Clark's 18-game streak is tied for second-best since the Indians affiliated with the Texas Rangers in 2003. Adam Fox (2003) started the season on an 18-game hitting streak. Royce Bolinger's (2012) 23-game hitting streak sits atop the leaderboard. Clark leads the Northwest League with a slash line of .436/.500/.731, runs scored (23), hits (34), triples (2), home runs (5), total bases (57) and stolen bases (12).

Palumbo shined in his five innings of work, striking out five and walking three. The 2013 30th-round pick hasn't allowed a run in 11 consecutive innings, lowering his ERA to an outstanding 1.69. Cole Wiper, selected out of Oregon in the 10th round in 2013, made his Spokane debut in relief for Palumbo. In two innings, the Bellevue, Wash., native allowed just one hit. John Kukuruda closed out the shutout.

Spokane broke it open in the fourth after Ti'Quan Forbes hit a triple off the center field wall. Yeyson Yrizarri singled Forbes home before stealing his third base of the season. Dean Long hit a line drive to center to score Yrizarri. The runs kept coming as Clark added yet another hit to his name, advancing Long to third. Darius Day's sac fly and Jamie Pott's single scored Long and Clark, respectively.

Yrizarri also singled home Diego Cedeno in the second. Forbes finished 3-for-4 with a double and triple, and Yrizarri added two RBI on his two hits.

Spokane now heads to Hillsboro for a five-game series beginning tomorrow. Catch the entire series on SportsRadio 1510 KGA with the Voice of the Indians, Mike Boyle. Sunday's contest will be broadcast live on SWX via American Sports Network at 4:05 PM.

The Indians return home Wednesday, July 15th for Girls Night Out presented by HOT 96.9. First pitch is at 6:30.
