Spokane, Washington - The Boise Hawks were shutout for the first time this season as they dropped the final game of a five-game series against the Spokane Indians by a score of 9-0.
Angel Lezama received the start for the Hawks and gave up one run in the second and third innings before the Indians broke the game open in the fourth.
Spokane sent nine men to the plate and scored four runs in the inning and as they extended their lead to 6-0.
Lezama took the loss on the evening, pitching four innings and giving up six earned runs on 10 hits with two strikeouts.
The Hawks threatened in several innings, aided by five walks from Indians pitchers, but could not push a run across as they went 0 for 6 with runners in scoring position.
Joe Palumbo grabbed his third win of the season for the Indians, pitching five innings and giving up no runs on three hits with four strikeouts.
The Hawks (7-14) return home for a five-game series against the Everett AquaSox starting on Thursday night at 7:15 p.m.
Notes: Brian Carroll went 2 for 3 with two singles and added two stolen bases... Steven Leonard picked up his second professional hit, a pinch-hit single.
