Vancouver Canadians News Release
(PK Park - Eugene, OR) - Canadians RHP Clinton Hollon was exquisite over his first five innings of work on Wednesday evening in Eugene but couldn't avoid a challenging 6th inning as the Emeralds would chase him as part of an eight-run frame that helped secure an 8-4 victory in the finale of a five-game series out at PK Park.
Hollon would dazzle over his first five innings striking out nine while allowing just one hit before running into trouble in the 6th inning. The right-hander would give up three straight base hits to start the inning, paired with two defensive errors, before Canadians manager John Schneider would bring in reliever LHP Michael Kraft who would fare much better.
Kraft would give up five earned runs as the Emeralds exploded for eight runs in the home half of the 6th to pull away from the Canadians.
Vancouver would fight to make a game of it scoring three runs in the top of the 8th inning with Canadians SS Gunnar Heidt grabbing a pair of RBI on a hard hit ball that scored both DH Connor Panas and RF Sean Hurley that made the final 8-4 Eugene.
The Canadians now return to Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium to open up an exciting five-game home stand that starts on Thursday, July 9th at 7:05pm as Ryan Borucki (0-0, 0.00) is projected to make his first appearance of the 2015 season.
