Winston-Salem Dash News Release
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The City of Winston-Salem and the Winston-Salem Dash are proud to present "A Dash of Independence Day" at BB&T Ballpark on Wednesday, July 4. The fun begins at 4:30 p.m. and concludes with Winston-Salem's official Fourth of July fireworks show, presented by the City of Winston-Salem, following the Dash's 6:30 p.m. game against the Down East Wood Ducks.
BB&T Ballpark will partially open at 4:30 p.m., with fans having access to the Foothills Brewpen and Kids Zone located in the outfield. Local band Stereo Dolls will be performing on the patio from 4:30-6:30 p.m., and the pregame festival will feature Food Trucks, free balloon animals & temporary patriotic tattoos made available.
The entire ballpark will open at 5:30 p.m. in advance of the Dash game. Both paid and free parking will be available throughout downtown, and all of these locations will be less than a half-mile from BB&T Ballpark's entrance. A full parking map for the Fourth of July will be released this week. Fans are encouraged to arrive prior to 5 p.m. to avoid the heaviest ballpark traffic.
"Our Fourth of July contest festivities are one of the premier events in Winston-Salem," said Dash president C.J. Johnson. "We are excited to be hosting the city's Independence Day party."
Tickets are still available, though the game will sell out. The Dash's Fourth of July home games over the last four seasons have drawn the four highest attendances in BB&T Ballpark's nine-year history. Last year, a record-setting 9,007 fans came to the downtown facility on July 4 for the team's contest against Down East.
