Hockey Canada announced their selection camp roster for the upcoming 2016 World Junior Championships, taking place in Helsinki, Finland, December 26 - January 5.

Among the 30 players invited was Sting defenceman, Jakob Chychrun, who is off to a solid start in 2015-16, registering 16 points in 25 games and maintaining a plus/minus rating of +9.

Of the 11 defencemen invited, Chychrun is the lone undrafted invitee on the back-end, and one-of-three on the roster. Victoria's Joe Hicketts is the only returning blue-liner invited to camp.

The draft-eligible defenceman first represented Hockey Canada at the 2013 U17 World Hockey Challenge, tallying 4 points in 5 games played as an underager. He was named to the U17 team once again in 2014, however was unable to participate due to an injury.

The case was the same this past summer when he was invited to Hockey Canada's Summer Showcase and the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.

Selection Camp will take place in Etobicoke, ON from December 10-14.
