Ogden Raptors News Release
The Idaho Falls Chukars coasted to a 9-4 win over the Ogden Raptors Wednesday night at Melaleuca Field.
The Chukars jumped out to an early lead with a five-run first inning. With two outs, Ryan O'Hearn walked, followed by a single by Robert Pehl. After a passed ball moved the runners to second and third, Samir Duenez delivered a two-run single to center. Brawlun Gomez then singled to left. Mike Hill brought in two runs with his league-leading triple to right field. Pedro Gonzalez singled to right to score Hill and give the Chukars a 5-0 lead after one inning.
That was enough for the Chukars pitchers. Zach Lovvorn earned his third win by pitching 5.2 innings. He allowed four runs, three earned, on seven hits with three strikeouts.
Mike Strahm converted his first save of the year with his best outing. In 3.1 shutout innings, he struck out eight and allowed just one hit.
The Raptors and Chukars finish the regular season Thursday at Melaleuca Field. Lefty Victor Gonzalez takes the mound for Ogden against Emilio Ogando. Game starts at 7:15 and can be heard on 1280 The Zone.
