GF ROUTS OSPREY

The Voyagers rode their hot bats to a series-opening win Wednesday night, knocking off Missoula 11-3. Leading 2-1 in the fourth, the Great Falls offense erupted in the middle innings, scoring three in the fourth, two in the fifth, and three in the sixth to extend the lead to 10-2. That lead was plenty for the Voyager bullpen which pitched well again, allowing two runs on six hits in six innings. Anthony Santiago went four in relief of starter Yelmison Peralta, tying his career-high in innings pitched while collecting his third win of the 2014 campaign.

THAT'S A WRAP

Today's finale with Missoula also marks the final regular season game for both Great Falls and the Osprey. At 39-36, the Voyagers have already clinched an overall winning record and can clinch a winning year at Centene Stadium with a win tonight. A win would also tie the season series with the Osprey at eight games apiece.

MORE ON THE OFFENSE

Going into last night's victory over Missoula, Great Falls came in with a .243 team average and 4.0 runs scored per game at Centene Stadium, but bucked those trends, scoring 11 runs on 17 hits. The 17 knocks was one shy of the club's season-high of 18, which came on July 20 in Idaho Falls. Leading the way last night for the Voyagers were Zach Fisher and Mason Robbins who each drove in three. Eight of the nine Great Falls hitters had at least one hit last night, including six multi-hit efforts, while everyone reached base at least twice and scored once.

PLAYOFFS ON THE HORIZON

With the Mustangs clinching the second half title on Saturday, the Voyagers first round playoff opponent is set. Great Falls and Billings will begin their series Friday at 7:05 at Dehler Park. The series will then shift to Centene Stadium for games two and three (if necessary) on Saturday and Sunday with 7:00 p.m. start times.
