Spokane, Wash. -- The Spokane Chiefs announced on Thursday that Chris Baird has been promoted to Director of Hockey Operations.

"Chris has proven time and time again to be a key member of our hockey staff," said general manager Scott Carter. "This promotion reflects the value he brings to our organization and the expansion of responsibilities he oversees. We're lucky to have him."

Baird had served as Assistant Director of Hockey Operations since 2017, handling much of the player administration and video analysis for the club. A Spokane native and Lakeside High School graduate, he was originally hired by the Chiefs midway through the 2006-07 campaign as a part-time video coordinator.
