Chris August to Perform at "Faith and Family Night"
February 20, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release
Greenville, SC - The Greenville Road Warriors, proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, are proud to announce popular Christian artist Chris August will perform a special post-game concert on Friday, March 20th as part of "Faith and Family Night" presented by HIS Radio. The evening will include testimonials by Road Warriors' players who will talk about how their faith plays a role in their daily lives as professional athletes.
Chris August is an American Contemporary Christian musician who is most well-known for his hit song, "Starry Night," which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Songs chart in 2011. The single helped win Best New Artist and Best Male Vocalist at the 2011 GMA Dove Awards in Atlanta. He was also nominated in several other categories including Song of the Year.
A 32-year old native of Garland, Texas, August joined the Winter Jam national tour in 2011 and played with Newsboys and Francesca Battistelli in 45 cities. One year prior, he recorded the album No Far Away, which included "Starry Night" and peaked at No. 15 on the Christian Albums charts.
August first drew national attention as a 22-year old with the release of his self-produced album A Beautiful Thing. The album led August to a new manager, Jessica Simpson's father Joe Simpson, who helped jumpstart August's career. He went on to produce records for both Brian McKnight and Jessica Simpson, and even joined Ashlee Simpson's tour as the opening act.
Doors will open for Faith and Family Night at 6:00 p.m. and the puck will drop between the Road Warriors and the Cincinnati Cyclones at 7:00 p.m. The popular Warrior Fun Pack is also available for March 20th and provides a great way for families to come out and enjoy a game! The Warrior Fun Pack includes four (4) red-level tickets, four (4) hot dogs, four (4) fountain drinks, four (4) bags of chips and two (2) Warriors drawstring bags for JUST $60!
