Chivas USA's Jonathan Bornstein Selected to MLS All-Star Team for July 28 Match Vs. Manchester Unite

CARSON, Calif. (Monday, July 19, 2010) - Major League Soccer announced today that Chivas USA defender Jonathan Bornstein has been selected to the 2010 MLS All-Star Team, earning the honor for the fourth consecutive season. The MLS All-Stars will take on legendary English Premier League side Manchester United on Wednesday, July 28 in Houston, Tex.

Bornstein, a Los Alamitos native, has played 10 matches this season for Chivas USA (all starts), served as the team's captain and played in several different positions, including central defender, left back, and left midfielder. A member of the United States National Team in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, this is Bornstein's fourth consecutive season to be named to the MLS All-Star team, and he also earned MLS Rookie of the Year honors in 2006.

The 2010 MLS All-Star Game will be played on Wednesday, July 28 at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas, when the MLS All-Stars play Manchester United of the English Premier League. The game will be televised live on ESPN2 and Telefutura at 5:30 p.m. PT (7:30 p.m. CT).

Chivas USA takes on Pachuca of the Mexican First Division this Wednesday, July 21, at 7:30 p.m. PT at The Home Depot Center in Carson. The match could include several U.S. National Team players from the FIFA World Cup, with Bornstein for Chivas USA and both José Francisco Torres and Herculez Gomez at Pachuca.
