CARSON, Calif. (Friday, May 25, 2012) - Chivas USA's non-profit Foundation, FundaciÃ"n Chivas de Corazon USA, announced today the launch of a giving campaign aimed at supporting small non profit organizations dedicated to making a difference in the areas of literacy, arts education, and environmental awareness for underserved youth and communities throughout Los Angeles.

The first honoree will be the non-profit organization From Lot to Spot (FLTS), whose mission is to provide local communities with access to green and open spaces in communities such as the City of Hawthorne, Lennox, and Carson. Among its most notable future projects is the construction of what will be a 5.25 acre walking park in the City of Lynwood that will be completed next year.

"This giving campaign will support small non-profits that may not be very recognizable, but whose vision and story is no less important," said Luis Rivera, Chivas USA Foundation Director. "Our Foundation is proud to contribute to their cause and at the same time, engage our fans and supporters in a way that will help them continue to make a difference."

"We are honored and thrilled with the support of Chivas USA's Foundation. When organizations like Chivas USA give back to the community, it not only helps us grow, but just as importantly, it sends a message that we hope other sports teams and corporations will follow."

Hundreds of volunteers and supporters impacted by the mission of, From Lot to Spot will be on-hand at this weekend's game where the donation will take place. In addition, a select number of organization supporters that have volunteered their time to help in the FLTS mission will have a meet and greet with star Chivas USA goalie, Dan Kennedy.
