Chihuahuas Nix Express Early, Hold on Late

Jacob Nix pitched six shutout innings Saturday in his first Triple-A start of the season, as the El Paso Chihuahuas beat the Round Rock Express 5-3. Including the 2017 postseason, Nix has allowed only one run in 12.2 career Triple-A innings.

Luis Urias, Francisco Mejia and Raffy Lopez had two hits each for El Paso. Urias has reached base eight times in his last four games. The Chihuahuas made one error Saturday, ending a stretch of nine consecutive errorless games.

Saturday was the Chihuahuas' sixth consecutive home win and their fourth win in a row overall. El Paso has won 10 of its last 12 games. The Chihuahuas are 36-11 when scoring first.
