Chihuahuas Hold off Tacoma

The El Paso Chihuahuas scored six early runs Tuesday night and held on to win 6-4 over the Tacoma Rainiers on Opening Night at Cheney Stadium. El Paso starter JP Sears allowed two runs in five innings to get the win. It was the fourth game of El Paso's season-opening nine-game road trip.

The Chihuahuas scored in four of their first five innings and built up a 6-0 lead at the end of five. El Paso catcher Rodolfo Duran went 2-for-4 with an RBI single and a two-run home run. Chihuahuas infielder Mason McCoy went 3-for-4 with three singles. The Rainiers brought the winning run to the plate in the bottom of the ninth but Alek Jacob left the runners on in the first save by an El Paso reliever this season.

Seattle Mariners infielder J.P. Crawford went 0-for-4 in his first MLB Injury Rehab game with Tacoma. Patrick Wisdom hit his Minor League Baseball-leading fourth home run for Tacoma.
