Space Cowboys Ride Mid Game Offense, Late Homers to Win

JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Sugar Land Space Cowboys (3-1) kicked off their first Interleague series of 2026 with a 5-2 win over the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (1-3) on Tuesday night at VyStar Ballpark. Highlights of tonight's game can be found here.

After a quiet start offensively, the Space Cowboys broke through in the top of the fourth inning. Cavan Biggio sparked the rally with a single before Riley Unroe followed with a double, bringing Biggio home to score the first run of the game and give Sugar Land a 1-0 lead.

Sugar Land added on in the fifth as Taylor Trammell worked a walk to begin the inning. CJ Alexander then drove a deep fly ball to right-center field for a two-run home run, extending the Space Cowboys' advantage to 3-0.

Jacksonville answered in the bottom of the sixth, beginning with a single from Andrew Pintar. Deyvison De Los Santos followed with a two-run home run, trimming the deficit to 3-2 as the Space Cowboys held onto the lead.

In the top of the ninth, Sugar Land provided some insurance as Collin Price and Taylor Trammell each connected on home runs, pushing the lead to 5-2.

Miguel Ullola turned in a dominant performance on the mound, earning the win after tossing 5.2 innings with seven strikeouts while allowing just one run on one hit and one walk.

NOTABLE:

- OF Taylor Trammell finished a triple shy of the cycle on Tuesday night, going 3-for-3 with a double, a homer, an RBI and two runs scored. Trammell also walked two times, reaching base safely in all five of his plate appearances

- C Collin Price collected his first hit of the season when he blasted his home run in the ninth. It left the bat at an estimated 109.7 mph and traveled 410 feet.

- Miguel Ullola did not allow a hit through his first 5.2 innings on Tuesday night. He struck out five batters in a row at one point in the second while his fastball topped out at 95.5 mph.

- Offensively, Sugar Land collected a hit in eight of their nine innings at the plate, including multi-hit efforts from Trammell, Riley Unroe and Jax Biggers.

- RHP Jayden Murray collected his first save of the season after throwing a perfect ninth, striking out one. Murray went 3-for-4 in save chances with Sugar Land in 2025.

Sugar Land goes into game two of the series against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp on Wednesday afternoon. RHP Jason Alexander is scheduled to start for the Space Cowboys while the Jumbo Shrimps areset to throw LHP Dax Fulton for an 11:05 am first pitch.
