El Paso Chihuahuas News Release

The El Paso Chihuahuas' offense collected 10 hits and three walks Wednesday night but settled for one run in their 5-1 loss to the Tacoma Rainiers. The Rainiers have won the first two games of the series after the Chihuahuas entered the homestand winners of seven in a row.

Will Middlebrooks' RBI single through Tacoma's drawn-in infield gave the Chihuahuas a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. It was the fifth time in six games Middlebrooks had an RBI in the first inning. The Rainiers scored five isolated runs throughout the game and went ahead to stay. The Chihuahuas started multiple rallies, but fell victim to two inning-ending double plays and left 11 runners on base.

Travis Jankowski went 2-for-4 and has four consecutive multi-hit games. Wednesday's game included a one hour and 25 minute rain delay in the third inning.
