Fresno Grizzlies Return Home this Saturday with Buzzworthy Promotions

FRESNO, Calif. - The first-place Fresno Grizzlies are beginning a crucial month of August with a slew of buzzworthy promotions at Chukchansi Park that coincide with their season-long nine-game homestand that begins this Saturday and runs through Sunday, August 9th.

An appearance by The Clown Prince of Hip Hop Biz Markie highlights the homestand opener on Saturday, August 1st against the Albuquerque Isotopes. The rapper and beatboxer will lead the crowd in a sing-a-long of his 1989 American Top 10 hit "Just a Friend," while also tossing out a ceremonial first pitch and signing autographs on the first base concourse. People all throughout the Central Valley have been warming up their vocal cords in anticipation.

ValleyPBS characters Peg + Cat are appearing at the park during the 6:05 PM Save Mart Sunday game on August 2nd. The two costumed characters will pose for pictures and sign autographs for fans along the first base concourse. The Sunday night game also offers fans the unique opportunity to play catch on the field prior to the game (starts at 5:05 PM), while Kids Run The Bases (presented by Sun-Maid) happens shortly after the final out of the game.

The Grizzlies are offering a $34.99 Friends and Family package for both the August 1st and August 2nd home games. The package includes four Field Level Reserve game tickets to the 1st or 2nd home game and two Parker drawstring backpacks, as well as two McDonald's Extra Value Meal vouchers and two McDonald's Happy Meal vouchers. Fans can purchase the package in person at the Chukchansi Park Box Office, over the phone at 559.320.TIXS and even online by following this link and clicking on the Field Level Reserve section. The McDonald's vouchers are good for any Central Valley location and expire on August 31, 2015.

Fresno will play 7:05 PM games on Monday and Tuesday at Chukchansi Park to round out the series with the Isotopes. Monday packages two Field Level Reserve tickets, two Fresno Chaffee Zoo vouchers, two Blackbeard's Mini Golf vouchers, and two John's Incredible Pizza Kids Buffet vouchers for only $20! The Grizzlies follow up the savings on Tuesday with $2 Power Alley Bleacher Seats (limited availability - day of game only), $2 Hot Dogs, $2 Sodas, and $2 Dos Equis Drafts.

Taco Truck Throwdown 5 - Thursday, August 6th 7:05 PM vs. Sacramento River Cats

The anticipation has never been so high for Taco Truck Throwdown, thanks the announcement last week that the Grizzlies will take the field for the game as the Fresno Tacos. People all over the country haven't stopped buzzing about the uniforms, with the club responding by offering a line of Fresno Tacos merchandise in the Grizzlies Online Shop (will land in the Grizzlies Team Store on August 6th).

Taco Truck Throwdown 5 features over two dozen of the Valley's Best Taco Trucks and has returning champions La Elegante, Dusty Buns, El Premio Mayor, and Tacos Mazatlan looking for another victory, while newcomers P&R Fusion, Maria's Tacos, and Taste Kitchen enter the competition for the first time. A $22 ticket package is on sale now that includes a Field Level Reserve ticket and four taco vouchers. The night also includes the Tecate Thursday promotion, which offers fans $2 24-ounce Tecate and Tecate through the end of the fifth inning and $1 12-ounce sodas all game long. All gates for Taco Truck Throwdown open at 5:05 PM!

Princess Ball - Sunday, August 9th 6:05 PM vs. Sacramento River Cats

Whether it's a Daddy-Daughter Date Night or an outing for the entire family, the evening allows for the little ones to meet their favorites princesses, while the first-place Grizzlies take on their Highway 99 rival in the Sacramento River Cats. A special offer allows princesses 12 & under a complimentary ticket into the Sunday, August 9th game so long as they are dressed up in a princess costume. It's bound to be a magical evening at Chukchansi Park complete with theme music, on-field entertainment and contests surrounding all of the princesses in the park.

Real life princesses scheduled to appear are The Frozen Sisters, Princess Ariel from Little Mermaid, The Golden Princess, Princess Cinderella, and Princess Rapunzel from Corona. Those looking to redeem the complimentary ticket for their costumed princess (remember, 12 & under!) can do so at the Chukchansi Park Box Office on the day of the event when they speak to a representative at the ticket window.
