PEORIA, IL- Michael Schulze hit a walk-off single as the Peoria Chiefs scored twice in the ninth to defeat the Burlington Bees 2-1 on Saturday night. The Chiefs are 11-5 in the second half and 48-37 overall and go for the three-game sweep on Sunday afternoon.

The game was scoreless through six innings before the Bees struck in the seventh against Chiefs starter Luis Perdomo. Trevor Gretzky started a two-out rally with a double down the right field line followed by Ryan Dalton singling him home to give the Bees a 1-0 lead.

With Burlington closer Alan Busenitz on the mound in the ninth, Carson Kelly and Juan Herrera each drew a one-out walk. Luis Perez struck out looking to make it two outs. Steve Bean lined a pinch-hit single to left, which scored Robelys Reyes, who was pinch running for Kelly, to knot the game at one. Schulze lined the very next pitch up the middle for the walk-off RBI single, scoring Herrera.

Perdomo allowed only one run off four hits, walked none, and struck out four over a career-high seven innings of work. Chris Perry (4-0) tossed two scoreless innings of relief allowing only one hit and striking out one as he received the win.
