Peoria Chiefs News Release
PEORIA, IL - The Peoria Chiefs have partnered with TS Sports in Dallas, Texas to install a brand new, state-of-the-art Lighthouse HD10 LED Video Board at Dozer Park. The new board will be installed and ready to go for the Chiefs August 17-23 homestand.
The primary video display on the new board is a Lighthouse JumboVision HD10 and will be 28.35' high and 42' wide, putting it 4.5 times bigger than the current video board at Dozer Park. The new board will include two new back lit ad panels at 13.5' high by 7' wide. The new video board will provide the highest resolution and picture quality by featuring the latest in LED and HD 10 technology. The Lighthouse HD10 is part of the new Lighthouse Green Line which uses 30% less energy and reduces the carbon footprint of conventional video board panels.
Demolition of the current Dozer Park video board will take place after the August 9 game against Wisconsin. The current board is in its 12th season of use and parts are no longer available to fix or replace problems. The new board, designed by TS Sports will be installed while the Chiefs are on the road August 10-16 and is expected to be unveiled Saturday, August 17 when the Chiefs host Cedar Rapids at 6:30 p.m. with post-game fireworks. "We are very excited about this new video board from TS Sports," said Chiefs President Rocky Vonachen. "The board will greatly enhance the fan experience with in-game highlights, updated stats and many entertainment options that are not currently available to us."
The new board will also include a radar gun with pitch speed, directly updated in-game stats from Minor League Baseball's stats program and replay capability. The board also provides the Chiefs and their corporate partners with new ways to direct their message and with greater exposure. Opportunities to involve social media with photos, text messages and twitter and facebook posts will allow fans at the game to participate in the in-game entertainment as well. "TS Sports is excited to partner with the Peoria Chiefs on the new LED Video Board for Dozer Park," said Brent Waldrum of TS Sports. "The new board will capture all the action on the field and improve the game day experience for Chiefs fans."
