Chiefs/Bees Postponed Friday

Burlington, IA - The Peoria Chiefs and Burlington Bees were postponed due to dangerous winds and cold temperature on Friday night in Iowa. The game will be made up when the Chiefs return to Community Field June 7-9.

The Chiefs are now set for the home opener on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. against Burlington. Chicago Blackhawks National Anthem singer Jim Cornelison will sing the National Anthem and the game will be followed by Fireworks presented by Spring Green. The Morton Lady Potters basketball team will be honored pre game and head coach Bob Becker will throw out a first pitch. The first 1500 fans 13 and over get a 2016 Magnet Schedule courtesy of Long John Silver's and A&W.

On the mound the Chiefs will start RH Sandy Alcantara, who is ranked by Baseball America and MLB.com as a top 30 Cardinals prospect. He will face Bees RH Jaime Barria.
