Gwinnett Stripers News Release
RICHMOND, Va. - Chick-fil-A and the Richmond Braves have announced a new sponsorship agreement that will bring the restaurant chain's popular "Eat Mor Chikin®" Cows to The Diamond for the entirety of the 2007 and 2008 baseball seasons. As part of the agreement, the left and right field poles at The Diamond will each feature a renegade cow promoting its message of "Eat Mor Fowl." The Chick-fil-A "Fowl Poles" will debut on Friday, May 4, at 7 p.m. as the Braves face the Charlotte Knights.
Throughout the baseball season, the "Fowl Poles" also will serve as targets for Braves players. When a Brave hits a ball that touches any portion of either pole, including the cows, Chick-fil-A will award free Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwiches to all fans in attendance for that game. Fans can redeem their game tickets within seven days of the game date at any of the 13 greater Richmond-area Chick-fil-A locations.
"The greater Richmond-area Chick-fil-A Operators are thrilled to partner with such an outstanding organization as the Braves," said Jody Wetherill, Chick-fil-A Marketing Director for Richmond. "The cows on the 'Fowl Poles' are ready to giveaway free Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwiches to Braves fans. We're anxious to feed a lot of fans this season!" To kick off the "Fowl Pole" promotion on May 4, Chick-fil-A will give every fan who enters the stadium a coupon for a free Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich. Additionally, Chick-fil-A's "Eat Mor Chikin" Cows will distribute plush cow toys to lucky fans throughout the evening.
"The Richmond Braves are proud to partner with Chick-fil-A for the 2007 and 2008 seasons," said Bruce Baldwin, Richmond Braves General Manager. "The 'Eat Mor Fowl' poles will add to the level of excitement at the ballpark and we are happy to welcome the famous Chick-fil-A Cows to the tradition of Richmond Braves Baseball."
As an additional element of this partnership, the Richmond Braves game on Saturday, July 21st at 7 p.m. will be designated "Chick-fil-A Night" at The Diamond. The Chick-fil-A Cows will be on hand for the game and if the Braves score six or more runs, every fan in attendance will receive a six count pack of Chick-fil-A® Chicken Nuggets by presenting their ticket stub at an area Chick-fil-A restaurant.
