CHICAGO - After defeating the Minnesota Lynx (9-9) on the road last week, the Chicago Sky (5-11) fell to the Indiana Fever (9-8) and Atlanta Dream (1-17). This week the Sky faces the Western Conference-leading San Antonio Silver Stars (12-6) at home on Thursday, July 10 at 6 p.m., and then hits the road against the Indiana Fever on Saturday, July 12 at 6 p.m. in Indianapolis. The Sky will return home on Sunday, July 13 for a rematch against the Atlanta Dream at 5 p.m. at the UIC Pavilion.

On Tuesday, July 1, the Sky defeated the Lynx 73-71, with Candice Dupree contributing 26 points and 10 rebounds and Jia Perkins adding 20 points. Looking for its third straight win on Wednesday, July 2, the Sky could not overcome the Indiana Fever on Wednesday night, dropping a 74-67 road decision. Candice Dupree notched her fourth double-double in six games with 20 points and 13 rebounds. On Saturday, July 3, the Sky lost 91-84 to Atlanta, as the Sky were unable to overcome a 12-point deficit despite 24 points from Perkins and 19 points and 8 rebounds from Dupree.

SKY VS. SILVER STARS HISTORY The Sky is 2-2 lifetime against the San Antonio Silver Stars, with two wins in 2007. In their most recent match up on July 22, 2007 the Sky defeated the Silver Stars 84-82 at home in a close game that had 17 lead changes. Perkins led the team in scoring with 27 points, followed by 13 points from Dominque Canty.

SKY VS. FEVER HISTORY The Sky is 2-7 lifetime against the Indiana Fever after dropping the July 2 game in Indianapolis. In 2007, the Sky defeated the Fever 68-65 on July 21, with Perkins scoring a game-high 17 points.

SKY VS. DREAM HISTORY The Sky is 2-1 against the expansion Atlanta Dream in 2008. The Sky defeated the Dream on June 6 with an 86-72 victory in Atlanta and on June 7 with a 91-70 victory at home. The Sky gave the Dream the franchise's first victory on July 3, losing 91-84.

CHICAGO SKY INJURY REPORT - Sylvia Fowles Chicago Sky center Sylvia Fowles sprained her left knee in the third quarter during the Sky's game against the Los Angeles Sparks on Tuesday, June 3, 2008. She is continuing treatment at AthletiCo. She has missed 11 games, and will miss all three games this week.

COMING TO A LIBRARY NEAR YOU! On Monday, 7/7, Cathy Joens will read to children at the Chicago Public Library's Bucktown-Wicker Park Branch at 1701 N. Milwaukee Avenue, from 2 to 4 p.m. On Tuesday, 7/8, Quianna Chaney will read to children at the Chicago Public Library's Roosevelt Branch at 1101 W. Taylor Street, from 2 to 4 p.m. On Wednesday 7/9, Jia Perkins will read to children at the Lincolnwood Public Library, from 2 to 5 p.m.

CHICAGO BELIEVES Chicago Sky center and member of the USA Basketball Olympic team Sylvia Fowles will appear at the "Chicago Believes" fundraiser for the Chicago 2016 Olympic Bid on Monday, July 14. This is the first fundraiser since Chicago was named one of the final four host city candidates. The fundraiser begins at 4:30 p.m. on the Great Lawn at Millennium Park.
