HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL - The Chicago Mustangs, proud members of the Major Arena Soccer League (www.MASLSoccer.com), beat the Cedar Rapids Rampage, 3-1, on January 2nd. This was the Mustangs third win over the Rampage.
The first quarter of the game started with both teams displaying strong defense, as the Mustangs and Rampage goalies saved three shots each. The Chicago Mustangs shots were taken by Joshio Sandoval, Miguel Vaca and Adolfo "Bofo" Bautista. The first quarter ends at 0-0.
The Chicago Mustangs came out a little stronger the second quarter with five attempts to get on scoreboard. Mustangs goalie Jesus Flores defended against four goal attempts by the Rampage. The second quarter ends at 0-0.
The Chicago Mustangs return from halftime with great energy, ball control and majority of ball possession. At 14:57, Ricardo Carvalho puts the Mustangs on the scoreboard and the third quarter ends with the Mustangs up 1-0.
The fourth quarter starts with the Chicago Mustangs putting strong pressure on the Rampage. At 4:56, the Rampage scores their first goal of the game. At 6:57, Adolfo "Bofo" Bautista brings Mustangs fans to their feet with a goal assisted by Efrain "Wilo" Martinez, 2-1. At 10:30, "Bofo" puts another one in the net, 3-1.
